If you need to purchase CRUCIBLE RANK RESETS please do not modify the values on the SELECT DIVISION slider, leave it as it is by default, at 0 and 21 values. Some D2 questlines require you to reset your crucible rank multiple times. In order to reset your crucible rank you will have to get to legend first, which requires you to get to the 10000 points cap, than you can reset your crucible rank.
